Cost of a Soundproof Room
Soundproof rooms are a high-cost investment primarily because they cannot be mass-produced. A difference of just 3 dB in sound insulation performance requires a different wall structure, so we design soundproof rooms to meet specific sound insulation needs. Although we offer various standardized soundproof rooms, we primarily assemble each room by combining pre-made components, adjusting the structures of soundproof panels and doors based on our standards.
Unlike typical residential wall, floor, and ceiling structures, soundproof rooms feature multi-layered construction with each company’s specialized techniques to enhance performance. Ensuring effective sound insulation requires a certain mass, so the materials tend to be heavy and more expensive as a result.
There is a concept of “bigger is better” that also applies to soundproofing in some respects. For instance, aiming for a performance guarantee of 30 dB @ 500 Hz would imply designing for an over-spec of 50 dB @ 500 Hz to ensure effectiveness. However, such designs are costlier. Our company draws on years of expertise to provide cost-effective, minimal spec designs that meet necessary soundproofing requirements, allowing us to offer competitive proposals under equivalent conditions.
